Regal Cat Cafe is Calgary's first cat cafe and during their process of setting up the location, they were looking for an overall style to give it its own character. I worked directly with the owner on various design projects to achieve that. The cafe houses adoptable cats from Meow Foundation and also includes a cafe for beverages, snacks and sells locally crafted cat inspired merchandise. The client was looking for a custom design of their tea and coffee bags they sold to customers and was interested in using some of my cat illustrations from a cat colouring book I co-illustrated with a local designer throughout the cafe interior.
For the tea and coffee bags, it was important that the illustrations was the focal point and followed a hierarchy from illustration to cafe logo to product information. The colour palette for the collection was picked to be whimsical, fun and welcoming and combining the colours with a consistent look and layout of each label keeps the collection cohesive. This style also translated through when designing their loyalty card and handwash informational signage.
